Ultrasis - The company
 

 Ultrasis specialise in developing tools which bring together 'best of breed' software deverlopment technologies and clinical expertise in the treatment of mental health problems. Lessons learned during the development of a range of therapeutic and self – help computer based programmes for stress related conditions have been used to tailor our new offering - Calm Workplace.

 The company initially focused on the healthcare marketplace in the UK and the US but emerging market opportunities focused on the issue of workplace stress has led to the development of a product set increasingly relevant to the corporate sector.

 From its beginning at St Bartholomew's Hospital London department of Medical Physics, the company, initially called Ultramind, has a 12 year history of research and development and has invested about £20m. As a result the products are proven and market ready.

 In 1999 Villiers Plc acquired Ultramind and changed the name to Ultrasis. In 2000 the company was listed on the London stock exchange and acquired CALM Corporation. CALM added to Ultrasis' capabilities with a suite of computerised health assessments and computerised tools to help implement the NHS National Service Framework for coronary heart disease. CALM also had a well established expertise in occupational health

 In 2001 the company developed "on-line" programmes for anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress. A programme for alcohol and substance abuse was added to the portfolio in 2002, Its first contract was with California based MHN, which is the specialist behavioral health (mental health) subsidiary of HealthNet - one of the US's largest healthcare companies.

 In February 2002 Graham Lewis was recruited as CEO from Siemens Healthcare Services where he was managing director. Graham has transformed the company from its R&D background into a marketing, sales and support operation.
